After two fruitful years, Australian Border Force Commissioner and Comptroller-General of Customs, Michael Outram APM, concludes his tenure as the World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia/Pacific Regional Vice-Chair (APVC) on 30 June 2024.
Throughout his APVC tenure, Commissioner Outram reaffirmed that “the success of our dynamism as a Region is only possible through our active efforts to foster collaboration and celebrate diversity, and our commitment to our Mission as Customs, which, ultimately, is what defines us."
Together, the Asia/Pacific Region has championed growth, security, unity and prosperity through our strong collaboration and recognition that we are stronger together, as evidenced through our many achievements and contributions to the regional and international Customs communities.
On behalf of your APVC, APVC Secretariat and APVC Secretariat Office for 2022-2024, we wish to thank you for all of your support and engagement throughout our tenure.
It has been an honour and a privilege to have served, advocated for and represented you over the last two years. We look forward to supporting Hong Kong, China, as the next APVC for 2024-2026 and wish our Customs colleagues and partners across the Asia/Pacific and beyond a prosperous future.
Australia, WCO APVC 2022-2024
